BEFORE ALL TIME

And here is where the road ends and here is where we find a path somewhere new.

This blog hasn’t been updated in months. This band hasn’t been updated in months. Before All Time is dead. After four years, countless shows, 1 album and 2 EPs we have come to a point where we have decided to call it a day.

We had one hell of an adventure, we played to crowded rooms and empty rooms, hardcore kids, indie kids, chavs and everyone in between. We broke equipment, blew up a PA, fucked up our bodies, amazed ourselves, played 1 cover song, made people laugh, made people cry, argued, made up, sang and played our hearts out.

Over the course of our 4 years we were priveleged to share the stage with a number of bands who have gone on to big things and some that surely will do the same. We made a lot of friend, a few enemies and forged so many memories and good times that no one can take away from us.

This band started as four kids wanting to play music and have fun. We ended up being five men playing music that we trully loved. I personally love every song we ever wrote. I know I’m in a minority here!

There are more I’m sure but those are all I can think of right now. There are recordings of most of these songs flating around somewhere whether they are home demos, studio demos,acoustic versions, full recordings or live video rips. Someday I’ll whack them all in a zip file for anyone that’s interested in them.

Whatever happens in the future always remember that music can change your life, it can make you feel ever emotion out there, music can save your life, it saved mine. Thank you for believing.

It’s been a while since this got updated and as you might guess if you’ve read the other blog we posted today its becasue we’re not sure whats happening with us at the moment. Things are at a point where we don’t know where we’re heading or what the future holds for us. We haven’t all been in the same room for a long time and it’s defintley wierd. We’re all still friends and still love the music we make.

The thing with bands is that it’s always going to be a case of trying to work around other commitments and just trying to find the time to fit things in. You can’t always make the band a priority, sometimes you need to put work, relationships, friendships and that stuff first.

The fact we no longer have a rehersal space is also proving to be a bit of a problem. Before we knew we could just roll up and jam, now we’re don’t have that freedom so it’s harder to arrange something.

I know that alot of people reading this won’t even care and will probably just think fuck off with your shitty band and your shitty music and I’m sorry if you think that but for those of you that do care, thank you and I’m sorry we can’t be any clearer on what is going on with us at the moment.

I’m in a band, who isn’t these days? Lately though it kind of feels like we’re not a real band anymore, we don’t talk, we don’t hang out, we haven’t played music together since March. I’m writing this on here because I know that only Matty will see it as he’s the only one in the band who also has a tumblr and will care. I hung out with Rob on friday in the day and it was wicked we just chilled and talked and listened to music together and I realised that I missed that so much, he played me songs on acoustic guitar and I remember sat in my bedroom at Uni playing acoustic versions of the bands songs. It sucks that we don’t communicate cause the other guys in the band are awesome dudes and I love them like brothers but it just seems that no one is intrested anymore. I can’t say I blame them. I

t all stems from a tour we did in Febraury that sucked all the fun out of the band,we played 2 or 3 fun gigs out of about 6 and it just wasn’t how we all wanted it to be. Looking back now I can see that signing to the label we did on the single deal we had was a fucked up move because it was someone else having control of something that wasn’t theres to control. Tour was a funny time, the first night we played at a Hells Angel’s club where the dudes smoked indoors and I personally witnessed some of them snorting coke, I was shit scared but we played one of the best gigs we’ve ever played,it was insane but there were just 5 people watching. People never seem to get into our music or they do and just can’t be bothered to see us live.

Since the start of this band we’ve been plauged with bad luck and had a hard time trying to win people over. We always were just these kids playing music that we enjoyed and trying to entertain people. It sucks because it seems that the fun and the enjoyment that I had wasn’t always shared by the others.

If my band is over like I fear it may be you know what? I’ll miss it like hell because I never feel quite as free anywhere else as when I do when I’m onstage singing shitty songs I wrote about things that have happened to me or people that I know.

I love the four guys that make up the rest of my band, they might not feel the same as I do these days but music is and always will be the best form of me explaining the emotions I keep bottled up or locked away.

I’m sorry this is so long and has probably ruined the look of your dashboards but I’m super grateful if you took the time to read this.

Now we’ve whored out our individual blogs, let’s update this one! Not alot going down with us at the moment, we all haven’t been together in the same room for well over a month maybe pushing two, it’s difficult to get together when everyone has other commitments and things to deal with. We’re just taking things slowly at the moment, taking a breather. We’re still working on a few songs at the moment, some are recorded and just need polishing and having stuff added to them, hopefully we’ll get them sorted sometime soon.
